Meditation and mindfulness practice has had a profound impact on my life and I am thankful and grateful for the guidance and direction provided by Paul Hill over the years.  Meditation practice continues to support my personal growth and has helped me to achieve healthier and more productive emotional regulation with improved frustration tolerance.  I learned practice and procedure for guiding meditation from Paul, and I utilize this skill today with my patients at Hoag Memorial Hospital as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

One of the first steps in dealing with substance abuse is to discover the emotional cause of it, whether it is fear, depression, anxiety, or pessimism.  Individuals in recovery cause unnecessary suffering when fixating on things that lie outside of his or her grasp or when he or she clings in vain to something that has already passed away.  Individuals in recovery who become preoccupied with this mindset are often holding onto something negative: an unwholesome belief about how things should be or should have been.  Meditation practice helps these individuals to develop greater insight into the unhealthy mindsets which drive negative moods and behaviors and increase the risk for relapse.

I highly recommend and advocate for utilizing Paul’s services as a meditation instructor.  He is uniquely qualified to work with newcomers in recovery and beginners to meditation practice.  Paul practices what he preaches and not only is he a great mentor and guide, but he is also a viable asset to the recovery community.

I have had the pleasure to know Paul Hill for the past 10 years.  Along the way, I have been in his classes, watched him closely working with others and overall have been privileged to be his friend and student. Paul is extremely aware of the mind- body connection.  His senses are highly attuned and I can tell from watching him in class and discussing meditation with him that he understands and feels the deep healing benefits of meditation beyond the physical realm.

I recommend Paul for teaching his special type of mindfulness meditation instruction.  Paul is one of those rare people that can clearly communicate the essence of mindfulness practice giving his students an unforgettable meditation experience.
